On today’s DragonKing Dark, host Karl Stern turns away from the serious deep stuff of recent shows to something fun and lighthearted — the current Pokemon Go craze.
Karl’s wife began playing Pokemon Go (like almost everyone else on earth apparently) and brought Karl into a strange but familiar world of Japanese monsters fighting! Mutated bugs and animals battling it out, hmm, where have we seen that before? Oh, yes, every Godzilla movie since the 1950s! The only difference is one is giant and one isn’t.
The new game seems like loads of fun and today Karl gets schooled on the ins and outs of Poke Balls and Pikachus, and Karl gives it back with King Ghidorha. On today’s show, Karl and his wife Tonya discuss the two franchises and draw comparisons and have generally a good time. Gotta catch ’em all.
