For the longest time, Andy Williams has been on my short list of guests I have wanted to have on Josh Nason’s Punch-Out and finally, my call was answered.

You might know him as The Butcher in AEW, part of the long-running tag team The Butcher & The Blade. But Williams is also a well-traveled musician, having played guitar in the band Every Time I Die until their breakup in January of 2022.

Andy and I talked for an hour about, well, everything:

  • The challenges of staying in shape at 45 years old
  • How the debut of himself and Blade came to be including a near ROH detour that would have prevented it
  • The story of when Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood thought Williams stole his guitar
  • Whether he knows what AEW show he will be working
  • Joyful stories about Bryan Danielson and Sting
  • How he feels about music more than a year after ETID broke up plus memories of ‘TID The Season festivals in Buffalo
  • News on a new music project or two
  • And lots, lots, lots more.

This is one of my favorite interviews I have ever done and I’m excited to share it so you can learn a little more about one of the nicest yet most visually intimidating men in wrestling.
