WOL Saturday: WWE Draft, AEW, NWA Power

On today’s Saturday edition of Wrestling Observer Live with Jim Valley, we look at Friday night’s SmackDown, the WWE Draft, and how it performed in the overnight ratings.

Plus, Bayley now looks like a heel. What took so long? I also talk about the debut of NWA Powerrr. While many people are praising it for its throwback look, there is a key difference in the presentation that, I think, makes it worth the time of any pro wrestling fan. At its core, wrestling is an athletic form of theater. NWA Powerrr felt like improv theater. It had a vitality and dynamic no other show has.

According to Dave Meltzer, Riho is already a ratings draw for AEW. I discuss why WWE has not only underutilized Asuka, Kairi Sane, and Io Shirai, but I question the logic of turning all three heel. All this plus Private Party, The Young Bucks, Shorty Gable, and more.
