The show opens with an injury update on Rey Mysterio, who may have torn his left biceps in a tag team match on Friday. Dave runs down what happened, and what this could mean for his New Japan match later this month and a possible WWE return. This leads to talk about Five Star Wrestling and their current status, which doesn’t look good.
An update on the Johnny Bravo situation is that he is set to release all 15 names who have bought PEDs under Richard Rodriguez. Apparently, there’s one “WWE Legend” who bought six figures worth of PEDs, though who that may be isn’t certain.
Brock Lesnar did work this weekend, albeit in a short squash that people didn’t like. They then talk about Eddie Edwards’ eye injury and how it looked on television this past week on Impact, and the Twitter war that followed between Jim Cornette and Sami Callihan. After talking about Tammy Sytch being in jail following a number of charges.
They ran down ROH Manhattan Mayhem briefly, then talk about this week’s NXT. Dave then runs down this Tuesday morning’s New Japan Anniversary show.
UFC 222 took place this weekend as Chris Cyborg pretty much destroyed Yana Kunitskaya in the main event. Meanwhile in the co-main, Brian Ortega established himself as a contender, knocking out Frankie Edgar for the first time in his career. Dave and Bryan run down the card.
Mailbag questions for this edition include the background behind Eddie Graham’s suicide, differences between FOX and USA, if the Destroyer ever had a WWE match and the length of Paul Heyman’s WWE contract.
