After a few thoughts on what made Samoa Joe’s segment with Paul Heyman so good this past Monday night (3:35), (which reminds Les of what he used to get from wrestling that he now gets from other shows) as well as the late Ron Starr (12:16) and Judy Poffo (14:18), Les and Vic spend the rest of the show discussing three major stars of the territory era.
We’ll begin with eight-time NWA World Champion Harley Race (16:05), who is recovering from a fall and subsequent surgeries. You’ll also hear about Bill Eadie (38:04), who enjoyed great success with three very different personas: The Mongols, The Masked Superstar, and Ax from Demolition.
We told some stories about the team of Rip Hawk and Swede Hanson on last week’s show, but today we’ll talk a little more about Rip (49:00) in and out of the ring as well as Rip being Ric Flair’s first mentor and tag team partner when Flair arrived in the Carolinas.
Thanks for listening and have a great weekend~!
